SERC, partners eye bond market to unlock capital
The Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia (SERC), in collaboration with the Credit Guarantee and Investment Facility (CGIF), the Credit Guarantee Corporation of Cambodia (CGCC), and the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC), held a seminar on Wednesday to explore investment opportunities and the role of bond markets in unlocking capital.
The “Cambodia’s Investment Horizon Seminar: Seizing Investment Opportunities and Unlocking Capital through the Bond Markets” was held under the presidency of SERC Director-General Sou Socheat, Cambodia Chamber of Commerce President and ASEAN Business Advisory Council Cambodia Chair Kith Meng, and CGIF CEO Noriko Nasu.
The seminar brought together representatives and speakers from the National Bank of Cambodia and the Ministry of Economy and Finance to discuss Cambodia’s investment landscape and opportunities linked to the development of the bond market.
The event highlighted the importance of strengthening Cambodia’s capital markets and expanding financing channels for businesses and investors. Bond markets can provide companies with additional avenues to raise capital while offering investors more opportunities to participate in Cambodia’s growing financial market.
The collaboration among SERC, CGIF, CGCC and CCC reflects efforts to promote greater cooperation between regulators, financial institutions and the private sector in supporting capital-market development.
The seminar featured fruitful discussions and exchanges among participants on investment opportunities and ways to further unlock capital through bond-market mechanisms.
